Peruvian fashion blogger Celine de los Angeles, who is based in Houston, had a simple answer to the question: The best places in Houston to eat for a budget.
“You can go to a lot of places in downtown Houston,” she told ABC News.
“But they don’t have all the same things, and they also have their own set of rules and regulations.”
Celine, who said she loves the food and vibe of Houston, said the food in Houston is always fresh, tasty and fresh to the point of being perfect.
“The best place in Houston that I’ve found to eat is with my husband,” she said.
“If you can eat a salad and a side of beans, and not pay for dessert, I think that’s really cool.”
The Peruvian blogger said she eats Mexican at home but is excited to try her hand at Mexican cooking in Houston.
“I think it’s the most beautiful city in the world,” she added.
“There are so many things you can do.
It’s very easy to get caught up in the city and be in a hurry to get somewhere.
You can be busy and just do nothing.”
She said she hopes to start a cookbook in the future that will include recipes that are easy to make at home.
“There are people in this country who don’t know how to cook, and I want to be able to teach them,” she shared.
“I want to teach people how to make their own meals and enjoy them at home.”
Celia, who also serves as a mentor to the Peruvian culinary community, also believes Houston has some of the best dining experiences in the country.
“If you’re going to be in Houston and you want to try something new, I would say go for it,” she concluded.
“You can always go back to your roots and learn more.
I can’t imagine not having a Mexican restaurant in Houston.”
