The highest-paid bloggers in Melbourne’s Victoria have been awarded a record $5.4 million in awards.
Key points:The list of bloggers on the most highly paid blog in the city includes blogger Michelle Williams and the Victoria-based social media marketing agency Blue WhaleGroup.
Williams was named the most-paid blogger in the country by the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce last month after she earned a $4.8 million salary in 2015.
“She’s a passionate, highly educated and driven blogger who has a great passion for the industry, and has the right mindset for a successful career in digital marketing,” Ms Williams’ employer said in a statement.
“Michelle Williams is a highly respected and respected blogger in Victoria and she is also a highly successful agency, so she will have an immediate impact in the market.”
Ms Williams’ contract with Blue Whale Group was due to expire in July, but she managed to secure another four-year contract that will keep her in the business until 2022.
The list includes Melbourne-based marketing agency Red Star Marketing, social media agency Myspace and social media and blogging company Taggart.
Other bloggers on Ms Williams’s list are blogger Ashley Gough, blogger Lauren White and blogger Lauren Fiske.
The $5 million is the most money paid by a Victoria blogger in five years.
Last month, the Chamber of Business awarded Victoria blogger Michelle Gough and her business partner, business partner David Gough a record-breaking $5,200,000 for her work on the City of Melbourne’s new digital strategy.
Ms Gough said she felt like she had “lost my mind” after she was awarded the $5m award.
“It’s been so overwhelming and I’ve just been trying to put myself in the right frame of mind to be able to deal with this,” she said.
“I feel like it’s been the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
But I feel like there’s a lot of work ahead of me.
“Ms Goug, who has worked in the digital marketing industry for seven years, said she had been “overwhelmed” by the accolades.”
Every time I hear people say ‘Wow, this is incredible’ or ‘this is great’, I think, ‘Oh no, that’s not what I expected’.
